Eagle Lake Golf Course

Do you like chasing birdies? If so, Eagle Lake Golf Course offers a unique 12-hole golf experience situated in central Almaguin. According to its website, Eagle Lake Golf Course prides itself in having the only Class "A" CPGA Professional between Huntsville and North Bay who provides the very highest standards of customer service. So bring your friends or get out and make some new ones on the green.

The Almaguin region is a cornucopia of natural wonders and whether sitting lakeside or trekking a rugged trail is your thing, there is something for everyone in terms of outdoor adventure. Mikisew Provincial Park offers camping, trails and even a disc golf course! There are many trails for every style of hiker. Staff recommendation for those looking for a light hike is the Riverwalk in Burk's Falls or High Rock Lookout (pictured below) outside of Sundridge. If you're looking for a beach, you won't have to look very far in Almaguin. Some of our favorites include Lake Bernard, Doe Lake and Eagle Lake.

Get your bowling and billiards on at Riverbowl in Burk’s Falls. Check out this funky spot where you are sure to have a great time. This unique and exciting setting features a one-of-a-kind sports memorabilia collection, live music on Saturdays, and some pub-style food if knocking down pins has you hankering for a snack. Combine that with a friendly atmosphere and you will find the Riverbowl’s motto: “You Belong Here” rings true.

Pit Stop 518

Have you ever stayed in a Mongolian Yurt before? Even if you have, have you ever stayed in a Mongolian Yurt in Almaguin? If you haven’t then you should. Tucked away in the forested realms of Kearney – Ontario’s Biggest Little Town – you will find Pit Stop 518 and their magical yurts. This new biz’ offers an all-season lodge at its organic farm and during the summer months focuses on cycling experiences. During the winter, it’s a perfect cozy retreat.

Get out on the Almaguin lake of your choosing with Scotty’s Lake Tours. Enjoy some well-deserved boat time with your friends and family while taking in the scenic lakes featured in the region. Swimming, sightseeing, and light fishing opportunities galore on this 24-foot pontoon boat where a good time is guaranteed.

New Adventures in Sound Art

Get those listening ears ready because New Adventures in Sound Art (NAISA) in South River offers a listening experience like no other. As a non-profit organization, NAISA presents performances and installations spanning the entire spectrum of electroacoustic and experimental sound art through workshops, lectures, and demonstrations that teach a new perception of sound. You will find many unique exhibits including the famous decomposing piano.

The Crystal Cave and Artisan Village

Don those fairy wings and flower crowns because the Crystal Cave in South River gives a glimpse into the realms of magic. The Fairy Forest is a trip into the land of wonder and is simply amazing for kids and adults alike. After, you can head inside to the museum and shop where more delights are waiting for you. The artisan village is a must-see and you can find local creators’ wares as you explore the space.

The Screaming Heads

Where the esoteric meets northern Ontario beauty, the Screaming Heads of Midlothian are tucked away in the forests in the Burk’s Falls area. Sculpted by Canadian artist Peter Camani, the Screaming Heads public art installation has been a fixture in the region for decades. So take an out-of-this-world adventure and immerse yourself in the experience.
